WHAT IS THE PERSPECTIVE?
It is currently estimated that there is something over 51 trillion dollars in the credit markets world-wide. Of that, bankers estimate the amount of paper, not just from the US but worldwide that could be affected from this credit crunch is just 1.5 trillion. That is only 2.9% of the total amount of debt that is out there. Now believe me, 1.5 trillion is a lot of money ( it would almost wipe out my bank account), but in the greater scheme of things it is hardly more than a good cold and certainly something that will fix itself, along with some help from friendly government interventionists who are adding liquidity like mad...120 Billion Yesterday and an estimated 190 Billion sometime today.
BOTTOM LINE...Don't panic. Don't sell everything, this influenza does have a cure and its name is earnings and once we get through this (not to say it won't be a dark weekend) we are going to have some wonderful buying opportunities.
By the way, as you may have noticed, there ARE still stocks, particularly in those areas we predicted will keep this economy rolling, that are surviving extremely well....
